Samsung Electronics is to pay CNY3 billion (USD450 million) for a stake in BYD. The Samsung investment has been made through Chinese subsidiary Shanghai Samsung Semiconductor and gives it a 1.92% stake in BYD. Touch Display

A large number of software applications created for managing and interconnecting mobile networks around the world may be vulnerable to a remote code execution (RCE) flaw that can allow attackers to take over crucial equipment, US-CERT has warned. Vodafone and Huawei have successfully squeezed 23.453Gbps over the airwaves in a test of what could form part of the standard for 5G mobile tech. The trial, which took place at Vodafone’s HQ in Newbury, saw the companies using the 70GHz radio frequency (RF) band to deliver ultrafast speeds of over 20Gbps, as well as deliver 10Gbps speeds to multiple users at the same time. For the first time, the worldwide smartwatch market saw a YoY decline of 32%, according to IDC. Smartwatch vendors shipped 3.5 million units in 2Q16, which was down substantially from the 5.1 million shipped a year ago. Apple held the top rank by shipping 1.6 million watches. Xiaomi has announced a brand new 360° Rotating Mi Home White Smart Camera for CNY399. It  can take 360° panorama photos, along with 85° wide vertical viewing angle.
