Dr. Chris Eliasmith, a theoretical neuroscientist and co-CEO of Canadian AI startup Applied Brain Research, is confident that a new type of chip is betting on the proliferation of ‘neuromorphics’ — a type of computer chip that is not yet widely known but already being developed by several major chip makers. According to Digitimes, Huawei reportedly will have only 8% of its total production of smartphones featuring AMOLED panels in 2017 due to an insufficient supply. About 70% of global output of OLED panels in 2017-2018, mainly from Samsung Display, will be consumed by Samsung and Apple, therefore limiting the supply of OLED panels to other vendors.
